Welcome to Two Sweet Peas Bistro Cafe, a charming spot nestled in the heart of Great Lumley, Chester-le-Street. This delightful café is not just a place to grab a bite; it's a warm sanctuary where friendly faces greet you and comfort food soothes your soul.

As you step inside, you’re enveloped by an inviting atmosphere filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the tantalizing scent of breakfast dishes being prepared. The café boasts a comfortable yet vibrant ambiance, perfect for catching up with friends, enjoying a quiet meal alone, or sharing a wholesome breakfast with family. The décor, simple yet homey, enhances the experience, making you feel right at home the moment you walk in.

The menu here is a delightful homage to hearty breakfast traditions, offering a variety of Benedicts that are a must-try. For £6.20, the Traditional Benedict will greet you with perfectly poached eggs, warm, buttery English muffins, and a velvety hollandaise sauce that dances on your palate. If you’re in the mood for something with a twist, the Miners Benedict (£7.20) features added ingredients that elevate the classic dish into something utterly delectable. For the health-conscious, the Avocado Benedict (£7.00) is a perfect choice, marrying creamy avocado with the café’s signature poached eggs for a fresh start to your day.

For those seeking a quick bite, the Breakfast Sandwiches include a delectable Vegetarian Sausage (£4.50) option that resonates with both vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. And let’s not overlook the Petit Pois Children's Menu, which serves up a delightful selection for the little ones, featuring dishes like 2x Sausage, Beans & Wedges (£5.00) and Scrambled Egg & Toast (£4.50), ensuring that the kids are just as taken care of.

But don’t just take our word for it. Local patrons sing the café's praises. One delighted customer, Josephine Senior, shared her joy of discovering Two Sweet Peas after nearly two years in the village, exclaiming, "I was on my own with my dog and it was great!" She raved about the Full English breakfast, marveling at how deliciously everything was cooked, and even mentioned how the staff kindly shared her scrambled eggs with her dog. The café is also pet-friendly, making it an excellent spot for dog owners to enjoy a meal without leaving their furry companions behind.

Another satisfied diner, Hilary, found the food to be "fresh and quickly served," highlighting varied items like their Miners Benedict and Caesar salad. The atmosphere is quite lively, with kids adding a hint of joyful noise, but this only enhances the familial vibe that the café embodies.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Two Sweet Peas Bistro Cafe is a must-visit culinary gem that caters to every palate. It is more than just a place to eat; it’s a community hub where food, flavors, and friendship intertwine seamlessly. First visit. I was hungry after planting 300 trees for wear river trust. A local told me about it. Cafe was busy but 2 tables spare. Ordered a ham sandwich, a fruit scone and an Americana - £10.60 Coffee came really quickly but the rest was a while but then it was very busy. Food was good. Staff pleasant. Would recommend.

We have lived in the village for nearly 2 years but today was the first visit to this wonderful cafe/restaurant. I was on my own with my dog and it was great! I had the full English breakfast which was delicious. Everything cooked perfectly and not at all greasy! I don't eat eggs so the staff very kindly put them in a separate doggy bowl for my girl! Came home with scones for the family and a black forest cake for me......can't wait to try it later! Will 100% be back!
